Inane commentary on a game that deserves far better

The stars aligned, a wedding happened, and somehow 11 UConn alum gathered for the 2nd Annual Starz charity basketball event. The Courant got the final winner wrong (Bird's team beat Taurasi's), but it does have some video of the game. 18 high school students joined Diana, Sue, Willnett, Maria, Ann, Rita, Nykesha, Ashley V., Ashley B., Barb and Jessica to raise money for several the Diana Taurasi Foundation, The Ann Strother Basketball Court Project, The Rita Williams Basketball Academy and The Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp-- and have some fun:
As Willnett Crockett took to the free-throw line halfway through the second quarter of Sunday's Connecticut Basketball Starz charity game, former teammate and current Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi did what any good teammate would do - she pulled Crockett's shorts down.
And that's not all, notes Off-Court:
When the "Make the Half Court Shot to Win a Car" moment occurred at half time, there was Kesh and Dee closely followed by Sue Bird giving shooting advice. When the sponsors were looking the other way, Kesh calmly walked the woman closer to the basket where Rita Williams and Willnett Crockett were waiting to “help” by tipping the shot in. When the basket was missed, there was Dee stealing the car keys, slipping them to the shooter and cover her exit from the court.

No wonder Geno has to be tough. With all the silliness and fun these players obviously have with each other how did these women focus to win championships?
